My car choice was all wrong. Because apparently the PhD just won't do it all on it's own. I guess we'll just have to kick start that Mutang in the garage next time I get an interview!

What to blog?
I don't know what I should blog about.
Should it be the very exciting news that I'm going to be an aunt?
Should it be on the progress of Ellen's Afghan? (6 out of 99 squares complete!)
Should it be something thought provoking and insightful on the plight of a post-doc looking for a job?
Should it be to blushingly admit the social scientist in the house might be right?
Should it be to warn of no posting for 2+ weeks while I go on vacation?
Well, how about that, I managed to blog them all!

A sign
Is it time to leave work when you are still long enough for the automatic lights to shut off?
And come to think of it...who unplugged my fan?
And shut the windows?
hmmm? Weird day.
Anyways, I'm taking the automatic lights as a sign. If you are staring at something long enough for the lights to think you don't exist, it's time to move on. I think it's time to accept the reality that this manuscript will not get submitted before I leave for vacation. I'm still waiting to hear from other people on things, and the staring indicates to me that I really can't do it myself, no matter how hard I try. It's very hard to use data you didn't collect. Or, to use it well that is. I could very easily just plug in some numbers and output some others, but the numbers don't really make sense, and not being there puts me at a disadvantage in the interpretation process. Time to move on I suppose...
